Orchestrated experience

National Museum for Art, Architecture & Design in Oslo

Orchestrated Experience’ was commissioned and acquired by the new National Museum for Art, Architecture & Design in Oslo and installed in 2022. It is a spatial installation that plays on form, colour, reflection and materiality.

The piece evolved from a statement derived from Service Design and is based on the term Orchestrated Experience.  The term is synonymous with collaboration, coordination and alignment.

The different elements all interact with the mirror from various perspectives, constantly changing as the visitor moves around it. At one point the reflection in the mirror comes together as a solid block colour, representing the perfect alignment of all the elements.

One of the driving forces of the installation has been to create a piece that comes alive with the viewer and transforms as you move around the installation.

Materials: Wood, folded aluminum and steel, cast concrete, copper, glass and steel.

Orchestrated Experience can be found in room 24 at Nasjonalmuseet.
